Local artist, Allan Turton, hosts pop-up art show

Local Artist Comes Home for the Holidays to Host Pop-Up Art Show

Allan Turton is home for the holidays and he’s making the most of it. Turton is an artist, born and raised in Owen Sound. He spent 2017 travelling Canada from one side to the other, painting, drawing, installing murals, and presenting art shows on main streets and in parks between  St. John’s, Newfoundland and Tofino, British Columbia. Turton is a born explorer and his journey across Canada parallels his wide ranging artistic explorations of themes, mediums, and perspectives all of which will be on display in downtown Owen Sound as he presents the pop-up art show ‘Far & Wide’.

Turton will share his work as well as pieces by seven other artists he met along the way at Dr. Cobbler’s from 8-11pm on December 28th, 29th, and 30th.  He will personally host each night, telling stories about his travels, his artwork, and painting live in the store.  There is no entrance fee and all ages are welcome. Artists and art lovers of all ages and stages are welcome and Turton always encourages people to join him in the creative process by bringing materials and making art directly at the show.
