Volunteers make communities better, period! Nominate one.

For over 40 years the City of Owen Sound has been recognizing volunteers from community groups/organizations who have made a significant contribution to the quality of life in the City of Owen Sound. The City is now accepting nominations for Senior of the Year, Volunteer of the Year and Youth Volunteer of the Year. Forms can be obtained on the City’s website or hard copies are available in Suite 230 of the Professional Centre – 945 3rd Avenue East.

A Youth Volunteer of the Year Award has been introduced by the Community Services Committee which is intended to recognize the significant contributions of youth in our community. Emphasis is put on the impact the volunteer has made in the community and to their organization.

The selection committee consists of the Community Services Committee who evaluate applications, taking into consideration the guidelines laid out in the award criteria.

More information on the criteria and selection process can be found on the City’s website along with the application forms for both the Volunteer of the Year and Youth Volunteer of the Year.
