The Shelters – The Shelters

This is a must have summer album.  These Southern California rockers have put together a real stunner from start to finish.  If you don’t believe me, just ask Tom Petty.  He heard The Shelters play and liked them so much, he gave them the keys to his home studio so they could record this kick ass album.   Here is the lead single “Rebel Heart” from their self-titled debut album.  The video is directed by Petty’s daughter!

Adam Baldwin – No Telling When (Precisely Nineteen Eighty-Five)

Not to be mistaken for the actor, Adam Baldwin the musician is quickly making a name for his himself in the Canadian music scene after stepping out of the shadow of bandmate Matt Mays.  It all started with his 2013 award winning, debut self-titled EP.  This album is going to be getting a lot of airtime when its released next week.  I’ll give you a taste of one of my favorites “Daylight” (inspired from his time spent recording in Toronto during the Federal election/Blue Jays playoff run last year).

Trivia Question

In honour of his upcoming performance at Kelso Beach in Owen Sound this Saturday, we have some Joel Plaskett trivia for y’all.  A free digital download goes to the person who can name Joel’s two former bands prior to the launch of his solo career.  See you at the show!
