Richard-Yves Sitoski releases second collection of poems

Written by Jesse Wilkinson

Join Owen Sound poet and spoken word artist Richard-Yves Sitoski on Wednesday, June 20 at 7 pm at the Ginger Press as he launches his second collection of verse with the Press, Downmarket Oldies FM Station Blues.

Moving on from the historical emphasis of his first book, brownfields, Downmarket Oldies FM Station Blues extends the personal and public concerns found on his CD, Word Salad, with verbal flares, squibs and Roman candles on the subjects of life, love, politics, fatherhood, and cat ownership. Including a special chapter featuring a selection of Richard-Yves’s songs with chording, it’s a book that plays its heart out like a bar band guitarist tearing his way through Steve Miller at an open mic twenty minutes to close.
