Intro to Intaglio Print Making
February 9 @ 10:00 am - 4:00 pm

$85
DESCRIPTION
Whether you’ve already taken a Drypoint or Collagraph class with us, or you’re new to printmaking, this workshop is your chance to expand skills and express creativity in fresh ways.
In this class we’ll explore various plate surfaces within the Intaglio process—Drypoint on plexiglass, and Collagraph on tetrapak and cardboard.
We will review how to use a steel scribe to produce a variety of tones, values, and marks, making the most of the subtle nature of drypoint. We’ll work on plexiglass, tetrapak, and cardboard. Feel free to bring your own reference material. Reference images will also be available in class.
This course offers hands-on experience with plates, papers, ink, and the etching press. Studio etiquette, protocols, and best practices will be introduced throughout. Participants will leave with a fundamental knowledge and appreciation of intaglio printmaking, and a small edition of 3-5 drypoint prints on fine paper.
All materials included.
