Mikhail Laxton’s first EP, Real, came out in 2021, during the pandemic. It shows the soulful, less twangy side of Laxton’s style, with the exception of “Wasting Our Time” that definitely lands on the country end of the musical spectrum. It ended up being the most successful song of the EP and foreshadowed the country sound of the new album, Laxton’s self-titled, full-length debut, released in August 2023.
U.K.-based publication, Maverick Country, a UK based international country music magazine gave the album top marks and called it “flawless,” a “must-have” in any country fan’s collection.

Raised in a bustling household in Southern Ontario as the near-youngest among 10 siblings, her exposure to the mid-00s indie-rock scene in Toronto, spearheaded by bands like Broken Social Scene, Zeus, and Kathleen Edwards, emboldened her musical aspirations thanks to their global success and accessible influence.
Rebekah Hawker’s debut single ‘Round of Fools’ was released in 2019 and quickly found placement on Spotify’s ‘Fresh Finds’ editorial playlist. In 2020 Rebekah’s song ‘Catch You’ won Folk Music Ontario’s Songs from the Heart award and in 2022.
“Rebekah Hawker is poised as the antithesis to modern pop music. Her art isn’t deemed by internet-era frivolities, but with emotive lyrics that can carry as much might as an incoming tempest betwixt wistful melodies that speak to the heart.” – Jonathan Frahm – For Folk’s Sake
